Item Description

With the bold cockpit instrumentation inspired case design, the Hawker Hunter collection remains a timepiece forged out of true avionic design detail. Carved and forged out of marine grade 316 L Stainless Steel and measuring 45mm in diameter, the watch opens up at the lens to display a unique dial design that echoes the machined engineered elements of the Hunter's breakthrough jet design engine. The octagonal case itself is replete with polishing detail such as that found on each lug that elevates the timepiece from a pure military inspired timepiece to one that shows of the care and attention paid by the watchmaker to the final product. Masking the date and day display the serrated turbine inspired layer of dial application adds a magnificent amount of depth and complexity while leaving clarity and legibility untouched. For the astute observer, both day and date fonts have been reprinted to pay homage to 1950s and 1960s typography actually found on Hawker Hunters of the time. Bold uniquely tooled hour and minute hands read the time off with clarity and utter precision with a contrast color detailing on the seconds hand. The crown guard to the right of the watch references the front view of the Hunter's intakes, while the roundel embalmed on the crown adds another element of interest for the wearer. Hugging the watch to the wearers wrist is a vintage designed hand stitched leather strap which marries perfectly with the neo-classic aviation sensibilities found on the Hunter Day Date AV 4057.
