Item Description

Journey to the Savage Planet is an explore-'em-up that looks like it might have been designed for Hook-era Robin Williams to wander around in. Granted, it will require you to shoot an dismember a lot more adorable creatures than Robin Williams was known for, but you get the gist. Walk around a corner and whoa! there's a forest of giant mushrooms. Clamber up a barnacle-encrusted cliff face and you might stumble into a lava cave. See a glowing lizard and you probably ought to shoot it. The savage planet you're running around on is a menagerie of weird and wonderful creatures, strange unearthly flora and hazardous geology. The central premise of the game is that your corporate overlords have sent you (and, if you fancy a bit of co-op, a friend) to the titular savage planet to investigate a strange alien tower that really ought not to be there. The catch is that to find out what's inside you're going to have to climb the huge great thing, and you don't have all the relevant kit. With that in mind, you're just going to have to make the stuff, which is going to involve a lot of exploring and hunting for natural resources. The overall experience is akin to running around a '50s b-movie that's been redesigned by the makers of The Magic Roundabout, but it's very keen on eating you. The savage planet is equal parts bizarre and... well, savage. All that said, you might just want to make it a one-way trip.
