As its name suggests, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is a revisiting of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars. Originally created by acclaimed developer Revolution and released on PC and PlayStation in 1996, the game was subsequently released on GameBoy Advance in 2002 and then made another cross-platform appearance in 2009. Still in the caring hands of its original creator, Reforged is thankfully no simple rehash of its progenitor. What starts with the brutal and horrifying murder of one of Paris's richest and most influential statesmen swiftly turns into a globetrotting adventure. Assuming the role of Nicole "Nico" Collard, a charming Parisian photo-journalist who witnesses the murder, players guide her as she investigates the statesman's slaughter. During her investigations, which feature exclusive new locations, Nico meets amiable American George Stobbart, who has been unwittingly caught up in the sinister and bloody theft of an ancient manuscript. Together, the two are drawn into a terrifying conspiracy rooted in a long-forgotten medieval legend. Alongside the original's compelling storyline, this Reforged edition brings enhanced 4K visuals and improved audio to the classic point and click gameplay the Broken Sword series is known (and loved) for.
