Item Description

The Megger MIT200 series digital/analogue handheld insulation resistance tester measures insulation resistance, voltage, and continuity in electrical installations, building maintenance, and electrical testing. The average-sensing metre provides accurate readings when measuring linear loads, where the current or voltage has a sinusoidal waveform. The dual LCD screen indicates test results either digitally or with an analogue arc function to replicate the response of analogue metres. The tester measures insulation resistance from 0 to 1,000 megohms, voltage from 25 to 600V, and continuity from 0.01 to 100 ohms. A continuity buzzer indicates continuity of 2 ohms or less. The unit has a test inhibit function that prevents testing on circuits carrying over 50V. The tester is safety rated to Ingress Protection 40 (IP40) for protection against accidental contact with hazardous parts, and to European Standard EN61010-1, Category II, 300V and Category I, 600V. The Megger MIT200 series is commonly used by electricians and electrical contractors. H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back. Electrical test metres report electrical circuit properties, such as voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity. Available in handheld or benchtop form, they detect electrical problems in equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A variety of probes, clamps, and leads can be used to connect the metre to a circuit or device. Single-function metres, such as battery testers and voltage testers, measure one property of a circuit, and multimeters measure multiple properties. Electrical test metres display information either in analogue form using a needle that moves on a calibrated scale, or in digital form using digits or a graphic representation on an LED screen. Metres have electrical properties that are to be measured and the anticipated range of results, and should have a rating that is higher than the maximum value of the anticipated range. An electrical test metre has multiple settings corresponding to potential ranges of values for the properties it can measure. A manual ranging metre requires the operator to flip through different settings until the correct range is reached. An autoranging metre cycles through range settings automatically until it reaches the correct range. Megger manufactures equipment for cable fault locating, protective relay testing, telecommunications and data integrity, and power quality testing under multiple brand names, among them Megger, Biddle, States, and AVO. The company, founded in 1889, is headquartered in Dover, England, and meets International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001:2008 standards.
