The X-Balanced Speaker Unit developed by Sony achieves high sound quality and strong sound pressure for a rich, intense, and enjoyable listening experience. Unlike a conventional speaker unit, the membrane of the new X-Balanced Speaker Unit in the XB23 is not round. The non-round shape maximizes the area of the membrane and increases sound pressure for more intense bass. The displacement is reduced while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion. The innovative design and optimized weight balance also contribute to clearer sound and a wider sound spectrum. The lightweight yet robust speaker cone is made from MICA-reinforced cellulose (MRC) and, along with the dust cap, plays a crucial role in sound quality. The arrangement of the side-mounted passive radiators has been optimized to achieve clear bass reproduction.
