Perfect for shooting in lower light conditions the f1.8 maximum aperture is available over the entire zoom range. With a rounded nine blade diaphragm the 18-35mm f1.8 DC HSM creates an attractive round bokeh at large aperture settings. Super Multi-Layer Coating is used to reduce flare and ghosting. Combined with an optical design engineered to be resistant to strong incident light the 18-35mm f1.8 DC HSM provides sharp high contrast images even in backlit conditions. The petal-type hood also blocks out superfluous lights to reduce internal reflections. Focus in on the details With a minimum focusing distance of 28 cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 14.3 this lens is excellent for close-up photography as well as a variety of landscape shots. As the front part of the lens doesnt rotate you can use specialist filters like circular polarisers. By incorporating internal focusing and zooming the length of the lens doesnt change for easy handling. Thanks to a Hyper Sonic Motor HSM you can achieve quiet high speed AF with a manual focus override that can be activated by simply rotating the focus ring.
