New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS (2006) is a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer featuring 3D character models in 2D landscapes. It updates classic gameplay with new power-ups—Mega Mushroom, Mini Mushroom, and Blue Shell—across eight worlds. The game supports local wireless multiplayer for Mario vs. Luigi, along with touch-screen minigames. Worlds & Levels: Features 8 worlds and over 80 levels, including mini-fortresses and castles, to save Princess Peach from Bowser and Bowser Jr.. Power-ups: Includes classic items (Fire Flower, Super Mushroom) and new ones: Mega Mushroom: Makes Mario giant, allowing him to smash through levels.
