Item Description

The Jackson Stars Kelly K-Series from Japan (early 2000s) were high-quality, Japan Domestic Market (JDM) versions of the iconic Kelly, known for their pointy design, excellent craftsmanship (often from the Chushin factory), and aggressive tones, featuring Duncan Designed pickups, reverse sharkfin inlays, bolt-on or neck-through maple necks, alder bodies, and licensed Floyd Rose (like Takeuchi) tremolos, offering features comparable to USA models for the Japanese market. Brand & Origin: Jackson Stars, a brand produced in Japan (often by Chushin) for the JDM, a successor to the Grover Jackson era. Body & Neck: Typically alder bodies with maple necks, often bolt-on, though some higher-end models featured neck-through construction. Fingerboard: Rosewood or ebony, with 24 frets, sharkfin inlays (often reverse), and a 25.5" scale length. Hardware: Jackson tuners, licensed Floyd Rose tremolos (like Takeuchi JT-580), and often chrome hardware. Electronics: Commonly loaded with Duncan Designed humbuckers, but higher-end or specific models (like the KE-TN02EMG) came with active EMG 81s for massive output. Models: Came in different grades (e.g., 01-05), with variations like the KS2 (alder body, Duncan Designed pickups) and KE-TN02 (neck-through with EMGs).
