Released in 1996–1997, the Nintendo 64 (N64) was a pioneering 64-bit console that defined the 3D gaming era with iconic titles like Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It featured four controller ports, a unique M-shaped controller with an analog stick, and utilized cartridges for fast loading. Despite tough competition from the PlayStation, it sold over 32 million units worldwide.
