Item Description

The DR-40X stands as a professional-grade four-track audio recorder that bridges the gap between studio-quality recording and portable convenience. This compact powerhouse features dual Neutrik XLR/TRS combo jacks supporting both microphone and +4dBu line levels, complete with +48V phantom power for condenser microphones. The built-in stereo condenser microphones capture everything from whispered vocals to thunderous sounds up to 125dB SPL, with adjustable positioning for either tight X-Y stereo imaging or ambient A-B recording patterns. Designed with practicality in mind, the DR-40X offers intuitive one-thumb operation for recording, level adjustment, and file management. The unit excels in battery efficiency, providing up to 17.5 hours of continuous recording on just two AA batteries, with USB mobile battery support for extended sessions. Multi-language menu support across 10 languages makes it accessible worldwide, whilst the dictation mode with jump-back and variable speed functions proves invaluable for transcription work. Storage capacity reaches impressive heights with SDXC card support up to 128GB, accommodating 192 hours of CD-quality stereo recording or an astounding 896 hours in MP3 format. The recorder doubles as a USB audio interface for Mac, PC, and iOS devices, making it perfect for voiceover work, live streaming, and songwriting applications. Additional features include MS decoding, auto-recording functions, peak reduction, chromatic tuner, and compatibility with optional foot switches and remote controls for hands-free operation.
